This new Grand Seiko Elegance ref. SBGW323 combines the Mt. Iwate dial pattern, a classic in its own right, with a purple color inspired by the kiri, the official flower of Iwate Prefecture. Representing a contemporary evolution of a timeless Grand Seiko design dating back to 2001, the Kiri benefits from a redesign that enhances case and crystal construction, elevating serviceability.
The elegantly shaped 37.5mm stainless-steel case has been Zaratsu polished at the hands of Grand Seiko’s takumi, giving it a clean, crisp, and distortion-free surface. Grand Seiko's integrated stainless steel bracelet completes the watch, further evoking the contrast of the case's exemplary finishing. Inside, the SBGW323 is powered by the attractively finished 9S64 caliber, its large gear-train bridge visible through the case back. Turning the crown starts the 28,800 bph movement running and fills it up with 72 hours of power reserve. A “slipping attachment” structure in the barrel prevents over-winding.
