The Navitimer Cosmonaute was born on May 24, 1962, when astronaut Scott Carpenter orbited Earth three times as part of NASA’s Mercury-Atlas 7 mission. On his wrist was a one-of-a-kind Breitling Navitimer, custom-built for space with a 24-hour dial. Composed primarily of iron and nickel, the meteorite reveals its natural crisscrossing Widmanstätten pattern when etched, ensuring no two dials are alike. The watch commemorates modern space exploration with the engravings “Artemis II” and “One of 450,” while the mission logo patch appears on the open caseback.
